Waiting on God\'s Timing When Life Feels Uncertain
Waiting is one of the hardest spiritual disciplines. We live in a world of instant everything — instant messages, instant food, instant answers — and yet some of the most important things in life only come with time.
Why waiting feels so hard
Uncertainty makes us feel out of control, and we don\'t like feeling out of control. But Scripture is full of people who waited: Abraham waited decades for a promised child, David waited years between being anointed king and actually becoming one.
What waiting is actually doing
Waiting seasons are rarely wasted seasons. They are often where character is formed, where patience is built, and where we learn to trust God\'s character more than our own timeline.
How to wait well
- Keep showing up in the small, faithful things while you wait for the big thing.
- Resist the urge to force an outcome out of fear or impatience.
- Journal what you\'re learning during the wait — you\'ll want to remember it later.
- Stay in community; isolation makes waiting feel heavier than it needs to be.
Trusting the timing, not just the outcome
It\'s one thing to trust that God will come through. It\'s another to trust His timing when it doesn\'t match ours. But every season of waiting I\'ve walked through has taught me that His timing, in hindsight, was always kinder than my own would have been.
If you\'re in a season of uncertainty right now, you are not forgotten. You are being prepared.
